These are some of Theoni’s current projects:

RESEARCH: Theoni has done extensive research on Sr. Adele Brice, the seer of Our Lady of Champion, for the Diocese of Green Bay. For years, she has been collecting data, recently completing more than a year of correspondence with Belgian researchers to gather documentation from Adele’s homeland that the Diocesan archives did not yet hold.

Readers have requested a sequel to The Woman in the Trees and TAN Books has accepted! Packed with more in-depth research, the sequel continues the story of Adele Brice and the settlers on the peninsula. While Slainie’s family rebuilds after the Great Peshtigo Fire, Letti Lafont finds herself up against a real-life historical figure, an infamous anti-Catholic missionary who’s picking off the sheep in Adele’s flock. The entire peninsula knows this preacher’s name by now, and 15-year-old Letti must find a way to pry someone she loves out of his grip. Adele joins the Norbertine missionaries in a plan to expose the false preacher and his false priests, while Letti discovers God’s unexpected plans for her life. Follow the Lafont family, Adele and the sisters, and the Belgians of Wisconsin into the 20th century.

“ALTAR BOY” is a historical fiction novel for middle graders that takes place in the 1970’s. The story will bring together various stances still currently debated in the Church about traditional practices and newer ones, along with some of the huge cultural shifts a young Catholic boy would have faced in the wake of Vatican II. This project is currently in the planning stage.

BABY LOSS MEMORIALS: Theoni has several beautiful memorials to her 4 lost babies that generous Catholic artists made for her family. She worked with Baritus Catholic and Catholic Paper Goods to create healing works of art for other grieving families. Prints, stickers, and other items are available on Etsy.
